Research
The first step I took was to conduct an interview with the ideal user persona, a person who works and the job requires a lot of note-taking (Click on the link, User Persona to learn more).
My goal was to understand what the user liked and disliked about the good notes app, IÂ wanted to gain some insight on what features I should focus on redesigning.

What do you use to make notes?
iPad
Are you using any apps/platforms to take notes? ​
Good notes, notability, One note
What do you use each app for?
One note for work, easy to collaborate. Notability for sketching/drawing and good notes easy to organize notes

If yes, what are some features that those apps offer which good notes doesn’t?
More exporting options in notability such as RTF (word document format) and has a wider variety of templates than good notes. Good note only has different styles of paper templates, but notability has. Notability offers tags, this could be a feature added to good notes.

What is your favourite feature that good notes offer?
The folders organization system is good.

Why?
Clear and easy to find, easy to navigate the structure. Can recognize handwriting and format it into text

What is your least favourite feature of good notes? How would you change/improve this feature?

When typing it is inconvenient to change the colour of the fonts, the laser function is not clear, the thickness of the pen has a limit of 2mm. When typing in the good notes you need to exit the text box and press edit again to be able to switch colour whilst in notability, the changing colour function is inside of the keyboard making it faster and much more convenient.

Yes I think it's easy to navigate because you can structure it to your preference so you can easily find the documents

Yes, I use a keyboard for the iPad and an apple pencil.
